In Eugene Peterson’s Message translation of the Bible, this is what Jesus says in Matthew 5:5:

“You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.”

What a wonderful way to live life.

Content, not just with you’ve got, but with who you are.

I hope that these definitions ring true for you:

Capable of love.

Able to make a contribution.

Optimistic about the future.

All things that can’t be bought.

All potentially true statements.

I hope that you are blessed with this sort of contentment.

I hope that you see yourself as God sees you.
