Russell Westbrook recently broke the all time NBA record for triple-doubles with 182.

It’s a record that was set by the legendary Oscar Robertson and had stood for 47 years. Honestly, it’s one of those records that I thought would never be broken, but Westbrook’s astonishing combination of athleticism and heart got him there.

Westbrook himself once said, “Every day when I get on the floor, I give it my all, because I never know what tomorrow holds.”

What a great philosophy.

The future can be fickle, but today is guaranteed.

Every athlete is just an injury away from oblivion, but we don’t know what life has in store for us either.

Illness, job insecurity, relationship breakdowns, none of us are immune from these challenges and more.

So we can either live in fear, trying to avoid pain and mitigate risk.

Or we can live with passion, giving our all and enjoying every moment.

I hope and pray that tomorrow brings nothing but joy and abundance for you and your loved ones.

But today, let’s play with heart.
