After driving the kids to and from their Church youth group this evening, I sat down to look ahead to the rest of the weekend.

Saturday morning at 8am. parkrun with Logan.

9:30am. Netball with Madison.

12pm. Leave home for the one and half hour drive to where Hayden will be umpiring a footy match.

5pm – Drive Hayden from the game to a friend’s house for a party.

9:30pm – Pick Hayden up.

10:30am Sunday – Take Hayden to play his first footy match for the season.

1pm – Come home exhausted and sit on the couch.

It seems like a lot.

There’s probably 7 hours of driving in total across the weekend, which is a slightly daunting thought.

But I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way.

To see the kids delight in their activities is a privilege as a parent.

They are fit and healthy and have developed some great friends along the journey.

For those few hours, they won’t be attached to devices, they’ll be living life.

Bring it on.

What are you up to this weekend?
