I love the tension before a big race.

The athletes have done their warm-ups and they are in their lanes.

They put their feet in the blocks and wait.

The crowd hushes.

The atmosphere is intense.

“On your mark…”

“Get set…”

“Bang!”

I see a lot of people who are like those athletes before the gun goes off.

They’ve done all of the necessary preparation.

They believe that they are ready.

They are just waiting for the “bang” to give them permission to go.

But the signal never comes.

So they remain motionless.

Stationary.

Going nowhere.

You don’t need permission.

You don’t need to wait for a green light or a sign from the heavens.

I know that you’re nervous and it would be easier if someone would give you a prompt, but that’s not the way it works.

If you have a race to run, just run.

If you have a goal to achieve, just take action.

Go for it.

Don’t look back.

Don’t wait for permission.
