A couple of nights ago, Seth Godin wrote, “Creation plus persistence can lead to recognition. But creation without recognition is still a worthwhile endeavor.”

We all want recognition.

We strive to be noticed.

We want others to thank us for our contribution.

But what if we don’t get that reward that we want?

Do we just give up?

Do we stop doing good work?

Perhaps instead of yearning for recognition, we need to remember that doing our best is its own reward.

And if someone pats us on the back for it, that’s a bonus.
