It’s easy to smile on the best of days.

It’s not that hard to make a positive contribution when everything is going well.

It seems logical to have a sunny disposition when the sun is shining on you.

And when your character is being tested, we can all put up a facade of having strong values.

But what about on the worst of days?

Can you still manage a smile and find a glimmer of hope?

Do others still benefit from having you around?

When there is nothing but dark clouds, do you provide your own light?

And when everything else has been stripped away, does your character and set of values remain true?

Because that’s the real test.
