It’s not about making yourself look better, it’s about elevating others.

It’s not about having all of the answers, it’s about asking the right questions.

It’s not about getting recognition, it’s about generously distributing praise.

It’s not about who puts the ball in the back of the net, it’s about who contributed to the goal being achieved.

It’s not about getting all you can get, it’s about giving all you can give.

It seems counter-productive, especially in a “me, me, me” world.

But when we leave our ego at the door, something remarkable happens.

We allow others to elevate us.

We allow others to look to us for answers.

We allow others the opportunity to give us recognition.

We allow others to see our indelible contribution to the team’s results.

We allow others to be generous with us.

So today, and every day, let’s make a positive contribution without the need for stroking our own ego.

Let’s be secure in the knowledge that there is plenty of recognition to go around.

Let’s focus on the team winning, not the individual awards.
