I’m reading through the book of Proverbs at the moment (as I do every year) and once again have been amazed by the timeless wisdom contained there.

I know, and respect, that not all of you guys share my faith, but some of these proverbs have universal application and I hope that they help you in some way:

“Walk with the wise and become wise.” (Pr 13:20)

Who are you hanging out with.  Are they elevating your thinking, or bringing it down?

“Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” (Pr 11:25)

Be generous with your words and deeds, knowing that what you give out will come back to you.

“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” (Pr. 15:1)

We have enough angry words in the world at the moment, you only need to read Twitter to see that.  Let’s be gentle and discerning in the language that we use to help make the world a kinder place.

“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” (Pr. 15:22)

One of my biggest faults is that I’m too independent, so this is a handy reminder to continually check in with smart people whom I trust.

Walk with the wise, refresh others, speak gently and ask for advice.  Timeless wisdom that I hope is helpful for you on your walk.
