When setting your goals, be specific.

Vagueness doesn’t cut it.

It’s too easy and comfortable to be imprecise.

“I want to lose weight, I want a better job, I want to travel.”

Vague, vague, vague.

This won’t get you anywhere.

How much weight do you want to lose? What sort of job do you want?  Where do you want to go first?

What are you going to do differently to get in shape and improve your health?  What do you need to do to prepare yourself for that future role?  When are you going to book your tickets?

Being too broad gives you something to dream about.

Being specific gives you something to take action on.
