According to author, James Clear:
“Most people need consistency more than they need intensity.”
Intensity looks impressive.
In the short-term it can be very productive.
And the energy generated by intensity can be helpful at times.
But it’s consistency that matters in the long-term.
Consistent habits.
Consistent attitudes.
Consistent growth.
Clear goes on to say,
“Intensity makes a good story. Consistency makes progress.”
As much as I love a good story, it’s the daily progress that will matter most in the years ahead.

Atomic Habits has been one of the most transformative books I’ve read, as it really is packed full of practical tips and behavioural insights that can be put into action. By thinking less about what are often finite goals, I’ve embedded behaviours and habits that mean every day I am living the life I want and designing the future life I want. Habit tracking and stacking really has made a difference, literally enabling me to maintain good habits after only a few weeks which I’ve spent years trying to master.
