It’s easy to interpret our interactions with others as a kind of see-saw.

I do something for you.

You do something for me.

Up, down, up, down.

But what if we all aimed to just do something for others.

With no obligation or expectation.

With generosity and joy.

Not up, down, but up, up.

I’m not talking about being taken advantage of, acting like a martyr or being treated like a welcome mat, I’m talking about looking for opportunities to add significant value to the people around us every day and through every interaction.

What would that look like for your customers?

Your family?

You colleagues?

How would people view you?

Your organisation?

Your values?

Let’s get off the see-saw.

Let’s be generous.
