You don’t need to have your beliefs constantly reinforced.

You don’t need to surround yourself with people who look like you and agree with you.

Because when we go down that road, we end up with a polarised world full of black and white perspectives.

Today, I want to encourage you to widen your view of the world.

To sit down with someone and respectfully hear their different story.

To argue less and listen more.

To see those who disagree with you as potential teachers, not potential enemies.

To read books by authors who challenge you.

Muhammad Ali once said that, “A man who views the world the same at 50 as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.”

That doesn’t mean that you have to change your mind on everything or be fickle in your views.

It’s OK to be strong and adamant.

But those who are most confident, are those who don’t need their beliefs constantly reinforced.
