One of the shortest verses in the Bible simply says, “Rejoice always.”

That means when you’re on the mountain top and in the valley.

When you’re having a good day and a bad one.

When you have a long list of things to be grateful for and when there isn’t much to say.

When you feel like it and when you don’t.

When you’re making progress and when you feel stuck where you are.

When you’re smiling and when you’re grieving.

When you sense God is near and when He feels far away.

We don’t get to pick and choose when to rejoice.

We’re just told to do it always.
