One of my little indulgences, is reading the great P.G. Wodehouse, undoubtedly one of the funniest authors of all time.  In his book, “Mike and Psmith,” Wodehouse writes,

“Cricket is the great safety valve. If you like the game, and are in a position to play it at least twice a week, life can never be entirely gray.”

It’s a wonderful description of the need for a recreational activity that keeps life from becoming too mundane.

Sometimes, we get so caught up in our careers and daily activities that we forget to put the time aside to enjoy life.

I know for myself, life can be so chaotic and busy that it seems as though it is all work and no play.  However, I am grateful for the opportunities to watch my kids in their sporting endeavours, cheer my beloved Richmond Football Club on, walk the dogs and read great books.

Sure, I love what I do on a daily basis, but it is these other activities that keep life from turning gray.

What do you do to keep life interesting?
