When you read the stories of Jesus in the bible, you come across the most amazing deeds.

Extraordinary miracles.

Great kindness.

Brilliant teaching.

Authority over the elements.

Scathing criticism of the religious leaders of the day.

A grand entrance into the Holy City.

And then the greatest act of love in history.

Jesus, God in human form, was handed over to the authorities, falsely accused in a sham trial and mocked viciously.

He was scourged, a crown of thorns was placed upon his head, he carried his instrument of execution up a hill, and then was nailed to it.

Beaten, spat upon, bleeding, naked, alone, cursed, Jesus took His final breath.

And in that moment, God demonstrated His love for you and I.

That while we were still sinners, He sent His son to die in our place so that we can be reconciled to the Father and then raised Him after three days as a demonstration of His power and a symbol of the new life that we have through Jesus.

All of the miracles and teachings are lovely.

But Easter is what it was all about.

Thank you Jesus.
