From a young age, we feel this strange compulsion to get a job.
It makes sense. We have to find a way to make money, to buy food and keep a roof over our heads.
There are certain expectations of us. From our parents, our friends, society.
Get a job.
While you’re at it, make it a good one. One with a fancy title and good pay.
You’re going to be spending a lot of time at work, so you may as well get well paid for it.
But is that all there is?
As that what we were born for?
Do we each have a unique combination of skills, passions and experience just so that we can sit in a cubicle like everyone else, ensuring that our work is compliant and standardised?
Today I want to encourage you, don’t get a job, find your calling.
Do something that matters.
Do something that gets your heart racing.
Do something that matches your abilities and makes the most of your talent.
I know that it’s easier to settle for less, but I can’t help but feel that there is something remarkable that you were meant to do with your life.
