Lately, I’ve had a lot of excuses for not writing new posts for this blog.
I’m too busy.
I’m too tired.
I don’t have the ideas, motivation or inspiration.
But every weekday, I’ve been able to overcome them to maintain my writing routine and keep the content coming.
And as I’ve done so, I’ve realised something that’s very powerful.
The more you overcome your excuses, the weaker they become.
When you hear that voice telling you to give up and you keep going, the voice gets quieter.
When you conquer your fears, you feel bolder and stronger.
Of course, the opposite is true as well.
If you succumb to your excuses, you give them power.
When you heed that voice telling you to give up, you make that voice louder next time.
And when you allow you fears to defeat you, you feel diminished and smaller.
So next time your excuses rear their ugly head, stare them down, beat them back and take action in spite of them.
And watch them get smaller and smaller.
