Let-this-be-the-yearThere was enough darkness in 2014.

Acts of terror, atrocities, death and pain were all around and it’s easy to think that fear and evil are winning.

But it doesn’t have to.

We can make 2015 the year of light.

The year when acts of generosity outnumber stinginess.

When we bring words of peace to situations of chaos.

When we use our freedom, not to do whatever we want, but to make a positive difference in the world.

When we empower, encourage and equip the people around us, helping them to feel valued and valuable.

When whatever the circumstances, we choose love over every other option.

In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus says, You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Let this be the year when your light shines.

When darkness is overwhelmed.

When hope is restored.
