If you’re building a house, you need to lay the first brick.

Of course, one brick doesn’t make a house, but you can’t build something without laying that first brick.

Then comes brick number two, but it still doesn’t look like a house.

Then number three, four and so on, until finally the house is complete.

To do anything significant in life requires us to start with a single brick.

Too often, we want the finished product immediately, but life doesn’t work that way.

The successful career, the long-lasting relationship and the thriving business all require an initial action that doesn’t look like the end product.

But step by step, brick by brick, moment by moment you get closer to your goal.

So stop staring at the vacant land and get started.

Lay the first brick and build your house.
