Sometimes, I sit down to write and nothing seems to flow.

I may write a few words, or even sentences, only to delete them.

Perhaps, I may have nothing at all.  I just can’t think of a thing to write.

There are no guarantees.

But I know that if I don’t show up and sit down at my keyboard, I won’t write a single word.

Sometimes, I spend time with my kids and I’m not the best dad.

I may be impatient or grumpy.

I may jump to unnecessary conclusions and be too hard on them.

I may be distracted and not fully present.

But I know that I can’t be a good dad if I don’t show up and spend time with them.

There are times when I sit down to pray and I don’t get anything from it.

I may be tired or distracted.

Perhaps I’m making it all about me and have forgotten who I’m supposed to be praying to.

But I know that if I don’t show and pray, I won’t deepen my relationship with God.

Sometimes, I make some calls for my business and hear nothing but, “No!”

I may not have built rapport as well as I could have.

Perhaps I just called at the wrong time or spoke to the wrong person.

But I know that if I don’t show up and make the calls, the business won’t grow in the direction that I would like it to.

If you want to succeed, you have to show up.

Every single day and without exception.

You won’t always have a great day or make the progress that you would like to.

But if you don’t show up at all, you won’t ever hit the mark.

What do you need to show up for today?
