Drip, drip, drip.

That’s the sound that water makes as it drops onto the rock below.

Drip, drip, drip.

At first it just seems to bounce off the hard surface, but it continues to fall.

Drip, drip, drip.

For days, weeks, months, years, decades and longer.

Drip, drip, drip.

And then something happens.  The surface of the stone begins to change and a small hollow forms.

Drip, drip, drip.

And after many years of small, seemingly imperceptible activity, the water wins.

Sometimes, we look for the one massive action that we can take that will make everything better, make our dreams come true and solve all of our problems in a moment.

The lesson of the drip is that a thousand small actions are more effective than one big one.

So hang in there, stay focused and take the necessary small steps towards your goals.

You’ll get there in the end.

Drip, drip, drip!
