The beginner’s mind:

  • knows that it doesn’t understand everything (and isn’t expected to),
  • is humble,
  • still looks at things with wonder,
  • isn’t cynical (yet),
  • perpetually grows,
  • yearns for more,
  • seeks the wisdom of experts and elders,
  • listens intently,
  • has the same level of enthusiasm that it started with,
  • shares what it’s learning with others

I suspect that most of us (myself included), would benefit from having the mind and perspective of a beginner a bit more often.

Know today that you haven’t peaked, that you have more to learn than you realise and that it’s OK to approach the world with a beginner’s mind.
