One of my all-time favourite authors is C.S. Lewis. I was introduced to his Narnian Chronicles as a child and have enjoyed passing on the tradition to my own children.
In “the Horse and his Boy” is this great line, “Do not dare to not dare.”
It’s a great reminder that to achieve all that we’ve been placed here for will require daring and a sense of adventure.
So do not dare to not dare!
We will feel scared and hesitate to take the next step because we don’t know exactly where it will lead.
But do not dare to not dare!
We will be tempted to live a life of comfort instead of taking the risks necessary to maximise our potential.
But do not dare to not dare!
We will have moments when we look life in the eye and feel terrified and intimidated and will want to back down.
But do not dare to not dare!
And there will be times when we will wonder if the risks will be worth it.
But do not dare to not dare!
Life is short.
God has a plan and purpose for you and you only get one shot at it.
To fulfill everything that’s before you will take courage, daring and a sense of adventure.
So, do not dare to not dare!

Thanks for this encouraging post, Darren. Love Narnia and C. S. Lewis too. This short post deserves to be printed out and put up like a manifesto.
