You don’t just buy a plane ticket to Nepal and casually run up to the summit of Mount Everest.

If you do, you will fail.

So, before you climb Everest, you need to:

  • Practice on and overcome smaller peaks first.
  • Train incessantly until your skills are elite.
  • Get yourself a support team to help you on your way.
  • Find mentors who have been there before you.
  • Create a strategy for climbing the mountain.
  • Stay focused when things go wrong.

If you want to climb Everest you need to understand that this will take years to achieve, but it’s worth it if you want to stand on top of the world.

Now replace climbing Everest with whatever audacious goal you have and apply the same principles.

  • Practice on smaller goals.
  • Train incessantly.
  • Get a great support team.
  • Get a mentor.
  • Execute an effective strategy.
  • Stay focused.

You can’t just expect to achieve greatness in a matter of moments.

If you could, it wouldn’t be greatness.

But if you prepare yourself properly and do the work, the view is spectacular.

See you at the top!
