Every now and then, our seven year-old sleeps in and has to be woken up to get ready for school.

As we open up the curtains in his room, the loud proclamation is made, “Rise and shine!”

Sometimes, we too need to hear those words.

Our lives are spent slumbering and we need to be roused from our drowsy state.

So, let me encourage you today to, “Rise and shine!”

Rise – It’s time to get up!

It’s time to stand to your full height, look life in the eyes and be your very best.

It’s time to stop being satisfied with being average and aim for excellence.

It’s time to stand out from the crowd and risk being different.

It’s time to prepare yourself for phenomenal deeds and achievements.

Shine – It’s also time to smile while you do it.

It’s time to find a way to engage others in your endeavours.

It’s time to operate with such unbridled enthusiasm that others can’t help but be infected by your passion.

It’s time to let your work do the talking, giving you a reputation not only for excellence, but style.

It’s time to let your light shine in a world that is in desperate need of hope and optimism.

It’s time to rise and shine!

A beautiful day awaits those who are willing to do so.
