Logan, Hayden and Madison

I love Christmas and especially appreciate receiving cards and letters at this time of the year that contain updates from friends and family regarding the year that’s just passed.

2011 has been another big year in our household, so here’s our own family update.

Hayden’s had a great year at school.  He’s worked really hard and we’re rapt with his efforts.  He’s made a few really good friends and had a great teacher this year, which culminated in him receiving an award for Character and Service.  He’ll be in grade one next year and turns seven in March.  He loves playing soccer and is waiting for a call from Sir Alex Ferguson to fill a role as goalkeeper, left-back or attacking midfielder.  He also enjoyed Auskick and will be playing basketball next year, much to his mum’s delight.

Madison continues to grow up into a delightful young lady.  She loves anything pink or purple and is looking forward to starting dancing lessons next year, although if you ask her, she doesn’t need any.  She has a fantastic personality, is full of life and has the most delightful smile.

Logan (aka Logi Bear) continues to grow into a lovely young man as well.  He has a cheeky smile and a brilliant sense of humour.  He shares his big brother’s love of sport and loves to kick or throw anything round with his brother or dad.

Madison and Logan turned four in November and we couldn’t be prouder of how they are growing up.  They will be entering day-care for three days a week next year to help prepare them for school.  We’re still not sure whether we’re excited about this or a little bit sad that they’re growing up so quickly.

Karen’s had a great year.  She continues to flourish balancing her time between raising our three awesome kids and looking after our resume writing business.  She’s met some terrific mums through Hayden’s school and built a great network there.

I’ve had a great year, with the role at CityLife providing me with some remarkable opportunities.  I’ve had the privilege of being with people when they’ve experienced the great highs and lows that life sometimes throws at us.  The church has continued to grow and I’m looking forward to seeing what God has in store for us next year.

This blog has continued to grow and I’m grateful to everyone who has taken the time to visit, subscribe, comment or share links from this site.

We are looking forward to spending Christmas together as a family as we celebrate the birth of Jesus together.

We pray that you have a fantastic festive season as well and wish you all the best for 2012.
