This past weekend, I had the privilege of speaking to our church about joy.
In my research on the topic, I came across a few great quotes on the subject.
Not all of them made the final cut for the message, but I thought that I would share them all here.
“Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, sometimes your smile is the source of your joy.” Thich Nhat Hanh
“Joy doesn’t simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day.” Henri Nouwen
“One filled with joy preaches without preaching.” Mother Teresa
“Winning is important to me, but what brings me real joy is the experience of being fully engaged with whatever I’m doing.” Phil Jackson
“You ought to live your life with such freedom and joy that uptight Christians will doubt your salvation.” Steve Brown
“To get joy we must give it and to keep joy we must scatter it.” John Templeton
“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” Luke 2:10
I hope that you found these quotes as helpful as I did and that in this Christmas season, you will experience great joy.
Do you have any favourite quotes about joy that you would like to share?

I’ve always like this one:
“Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.”

These were great, Darren! I think I liked Mother Teresa’s the best. 🙂 I don’t know who to credit with this, but here is one I read . . .
Jesus
Others
You
Putting Jesus and others first will bring us joy. 🙂

Thanks Debbie, I really like the Mother Teresa one as well. That quote certainly made the cut into the message.
I like your addition as well.
