Sometimes people don’t meet the standards that we’ve set for them… be encouraging anyway.
Sometimes we are jealous of the achievements of others and wish that it could be us receiving the applause… be encouraging anyway.
Sometimes we are surrounded by cynics who don’t believe in positive affirmation… be encouraging anyway.
Sometimes we feel discouraged ourselves and in need of kind words… be encouraging anyway.
Sometimes we don’t believe that someone deserves our kind words… be encouraging anyway.
Sometimes we assume that our leaders get enough satisfaction from their work… be encouraging anyway.
Sometimes we feel self-conscious when giving someone credit for a job well done… be encouraging anyway.
Sometimes we are anxious that people could take our words the wrong way and see us as a sycophant or someone who wants a future favour… be encouraging anyway.
Sometimes every fibre of our being is resistant to saying what we know we should… be encouraging anyway.
Sometimes we are afraid that our words could be rejected, leaving us embarrassed and feeling belittled… be encouraging anyway.
Sometimes we think that others must be encouraging them, so they don’t need us to join in… be encouraging anyway.
Sometimes we know that we could do better… be encouraging anyway.
Sometimes we think that the ego of the other person doesn’t need further inflating… be encouraging anyway.
