When the Dark Clouds Gather

Sometimes, life seems very dark and dreary.

It’s almost as if there are black clouds all around and the sun can’t burst through.

It’s cold and it seems as though a catastrophic storm is only moments away.

We can’t remember what it was like to have the sun shine on our face and don’t know when it will appear again.

And it seems that perhaps it won’t ever return.

We start to believe that perhaps the dark clouds are here to stay.

Perhaps this is all that life has to offer.

Let me encourage you today.

One day the clouds will part and you will see the sun again.

One day you will feel the warmth of its breath upon you.

One day the cold, dark world that you live in will be full of light, colour and freshness.

Song of Songs 2:11-12 says,

See!  The winter is past;

The rains are over and gone.

Flowers appear on the earth;

The season of singing has come.

I don’t know your situation, but whenever you feel as though you’re in a dark place, look to the horizon in hope.

Because the time is coming when the clouds will make way for the light.

It always does!
