There was a young man with a dream.
He was a talented singer and he dreamed of using his gift to become a star.
When he was in high school, he had a chance to follow his dream.
But he thought that he was too young and he wanted to focus on his schooling, so he waited for the right time.
Then he went to university and had another chance to follow his dream.
But he was keen to get a qualification behind him, so he waited for the right time.
Then he started working 9 to 5 and had another chance to follow his dream.
But he was about to get married and was saving money for a house, so he waited for the right time.
Then he got married and had another chance to follow his dream.
But he wanted to start a family, so he waited for the right time.
Then his kids grew older and more independent, giving him the chance to follow his dream.
But he had a lot of pressures at work, so he waited for the right time.
Then he finally got some balance in his life and had the time to follow his dream.
But he thought that he was too old and had missed the right time.
And lived the rest of his life regretting that he didn’t take advantage of all of the opportunities that he had been given.
If you have a dream, don’t wait for the right time.
It doesn’t matter what your dream is.
It could be launching your own business, starting a family, getting your degree or anything else that gets your heart racing.
Don’t miss your chance.
Don’t waste your talent.
Take action now.
You’ll regret it if you don’t.

Have to disagree a bit today
Regret is a waste of time. Your man made his choices. They were the right choices for him at the time. He may have found his voice late in life..

Thanks Linda, there’s nothing wrong with disagreeing.
I agree that regret is a waste of time, but if we don’t go after our dreams, we run the risk of looking back over our lives with regret.
I suspect that our man didn’t make the right choices, he made the most rational choices.
Thanks again for sharing your perspective, it’s always welcome.

It is really hard to say when is the right time to do all the things you want or when is the right time to follow your dream. For me, when opportunity knocks on you grab it if this will make you happy. Time flies so fast you will never turn back the time.

Thanks Lynne, it is hard to know when the right time is. You’re right, you can’t turn back time, so make the most of now.

AMEN and AMEN, Coach Darren! We must do a least a little bit everyday to working towards our dream! Like a beaver building a dam and a home, we must do the work towards our dream one bite at a time!

Thanks Rose, I love that analogy of a beaver building a dam. I’ve had a draft of a post about that concept for a while, I really should finish it off and get it posted.
